📸 Whitetail Are On the Move – Big Time

If your trail cams have been quiet lately, check again — ours are absolutely blowing up this week. Deer are on their feet and moving like crazy.

We don’t have any racks yet, but a few look like they’ve got nubs poking through. It’s that time — velvet season is kicking off. One of my buddies swears he saw antlers already, so we’re right on the edge of that early growth window. The hormones are doing their thing.

We were out at Carlyle this weekend and spotted deer all over Hazlet campground. It looked like a damn parade at times. When that much movement happens in early spring, it usually means food is easy, weather’s right, and they’re feeling good. Bucks, does — everything’s stretching its legs and settling into summer patterns.

This is when we start locking in the home range guesses and keeping an eye on repeat visitors. The next few weeks matter.

Stay sharp. Velvet’s coming.
